A brief thumbnail sketch of the last five-seven thousand years!

Archeologists constantly find new evidence that ancient  civilisations studied the stars, particularly the moon and its phases, probably as an aid to their survival.

We constantly read of new  evidence of ancient, world wide, astrological studies dating back thousands of years. Some of these are to be found in Egypt, the near and  far east, Australia, Europe even The Americas. The U.K and Ireland particularly play a special role in unearthing the major part watching the heavens played in the  progress of those respective civilisations. Far from being 'primitive'  these ancient tribes and peoples had an affinity with the cosmic technology of the stars above, and knew how the  constellational  I.T 'programmes,'  unfolding in the night sky,  would lead them to an understanding of how to act in life the  very 'interface' of terrestrial and 'divine' or  celestial influences. Unfortunately this knowledge has been lost for many millennia. It has taken the emergence of the 'new' technology,  via micro chip capability,  combined with the teachings of formerly secretive and jealously guarded ancient knowledge, left in the custody of a select few only, to once again restore the knowledge of  'as above, so below.,'  for the full benefit of humankind.

The Babylonians had wise and skilful astronomer/astrologers who plotted the path of the planets to  help farmers grow their crops. These astrologers also set up charts for the rulers, kings and queens of the day in an attempt to secure the safety,  security and prosperity of rulers and their nations. Indeed, it was  thought that as long as the rulers of the day had this knowledge, then their subjects could live safely  with  security and harmony with the cosmos and the arbitrary influences of the oftimes destructive elements.

A Persian King named Darius, successfully used the services of his personal astrologer to subdue his own people and those of the nations he wished to conquer, so harnessing knowledge of the stars to ensure the expansion of his successful and sizeable empire. He used  knowledge of  eclipses to subdue his antagonists, and conquer his foes and opponents into believing that he had 'Divine Providence ' on his side, during his quest to expand and fortify his empire. The Syrian Empire was one of the greatest on earth.

In the east down the ages Tibetan monk astrologers  have  expertly used their skilful command of this ' Divining Science'  to locate and verify which new-born child is the re-incarnate Daila Lama. Western history  records that  ancient astrologers were frequently consulted to find exactly where the child Jesus was born,  when a particularly bright and unusual star formation was seen in the heavens. All serves to  prove  astrology is thousands of years old, and has been respected for thousands of years by the most influential and forward thinking people of all civilisations to date. Why shouldn't it be? Tibetan astrologers today are still monks and just like ancient astrologers, perceive astrology to be the manifestation of Divine Will. This beautiful mandala, illustrated, depicts the holy traditions associated with Buddhist beliefs.

The ancient Greeks made personal horoscopic readings very popular and fashionable. They set up a school for astrologers on the Island of Cos  around 280 b.c.which began circulating many treatises on astrology. Subsequently the author and astrologer Ptolemy, left us his most important works 'Tetrabiblos'  which clearly conveys the high status,  knowledge of  heavenly events had in Greek and Roman times.  This manual, along with Manilius'  writings, is still studied today by academics, historians and serious astrologers.

Other ancient and not so ancient kings and queens, military and religious rulers, have continued to use astrology to safeguard the future of their realms of influence and rulership. Queen Elizabeth 1,  used her own very famous astrologer John Dee, to help her make England one of the greatest seafaring nations of her time. Shakespeare  himself refers many times to the use of astrology in his  superb works of genius, thus confirming the firm role it sustained in people's lives during the middle ages and beyond...............................

Even now many rich and famous and influential people use the knowledge of  'as above, so below'  to develop and inform  their understanding of themselves and their role in the universe. Until twenty  or thirty years  ago only the rich, famous or influential could afford the services of a skilled astrologer to guide them in their life. A good astrologer takes many years ( some would say many lifetimes)  to acquire the science and art of interpreting the message of destiny written in the heavens. No wonder only the rich, famous  and influential such as kings and queens, could afford the luxury and honour  of  the services of an astrologer. How exciting it is then, to live in an era when this science can be invigorated by the partnership with advanced  technology, which allows the message of astrology --the science of the stars, the language of the heavens--to be used more accurately, more widespreadly and more speedily than at any other time in our history.  For more detailed information see our page :-
